| DDFC participated in the recently
concluded Hannover Messe in 11-15 April 2005 as a
part of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) & Engineering
Development Board (EDB) Pakistani delegation. This
is the world’s premier engineering trade fair
held annually in Hannover, the city of Exhibitions
& Trade Fairs, in Northern Germany. Over 6000
exhibitors participated from 60 countries and presented
their latest developments in various engineering sectors.
The Pakistani delegation comprised of 35 exhibitors
and more than 100 delegates. |
| In
the past few years the participation of Pakistani
exhibitors was nominal, but this year a strong contingent
from Pakistan participated with the slogan of ‘INDUSTRIAL
PAKISTAN, THE RIGHT TIME, THE RIGHT PLACE’ and
the Pakistani pavilion was very prominent in the Convention
Centre. |

DDFC
had targeted appropriate companies for mutually beneficial
partnerships for value added cooperation coupled with
its local knowledge in Renewable Energy, Oil &
Gas and Process industries in Pakistan. |
The
Pakistani delegation comprised of many distinguished
people from the engineering sector, industry icons
and entrepreneurs. The Federal Minister for Industries
& Production, Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen, Mr. Imtiaz
Rastgar, CEO of Engineering Development Board (EDB)
& Mr Almas Hayder, Chairman, TUSDEC, led the the
delegation to highlight the strength of Pakistan’s
industry. |

The
Fair was divided into 11 trade shows spread across
the sprawling Convention Centre. Special mention must
be made of the planning design & services provided
during the fair by the commercial counselor for Pakistan
based in Germany and his support team. This was truly
a precedent setting initiative taken by the Government
of Pakistan |
