DDFC,
a private limited company formed in 1980, was initially
founded as Design Development Fabrication Company. The team
of engineering professionals behind the concept had extensive
experience in the process industry. The original name of
the company was chosen to be self-descriptive of its capabilities.
In order to establish a niche in the market and recognition
for quality manufacturing, the initial product range of
the company was limited to Stainless Steel Equipment including
Hygienic Vessels and customized fabrication for the process
industry. Strong relationship based networks proved essential
in securing valuable reference building business for the
company during its nascent years. More...

Pakistan
is a growing market for specific fields such as the Chemical,
Pharmaceutical, Agro Pesticides, Engineering and the Textiles
industries. The industrial units have been expanded many folds
since their inceptions over a period ranging between twenty
to thirty years, when the demand of their products bloomed
in the local and international markets. In the past, new plants
or production units in the country, on private or government
owned basis, either under any Aid programme or other scheme,
were always accompanied with expertise along the plant. In
fact it was made a mandatory part of the deal to include installation,
erection and commissioning. As a result, we were handed a
ready made plant with meagre back up service and trained people.
Even the initial maintenance agreement was with the original
suppliers which would be from 2 to 3 years leaving literally
no scope for the local engineering to grow. More...
Pollution
abatement
By
Zaid Bin Shahid Environment Engineer
Any
human activity that impairs the use of water as resource may
be termed as water pollution. With an exploding population
and increasing industrialization and urbanization, water pollution
by agricultural, municipal and industrial sources has become
a major environmental concern worldwide. The population of
Pakistan currently stands at more than 150 million which is
projected to grow to about 250 million by 2025. This along
with the growth in the industrial sector of Pakistan would
have a direct adverse bearing on the usage of water and a
consequent increase in the production of polluted water. Currently
most of the industrial effluent produced is disposed untreated
into nearby drains. More...

Waste
heat is a term generally used for products of combustion or
heat generated in exothermic reactions in process industries
which is normally not utilized in the industry. Typical examples
would be exhausts from internal combustion engines utilizing
diesel, petrol, heavy fuel oil or natural gas. Gas Turbines,
Boilers, Thermic Fluid Heaters are typical examples of equipment
producing waste heat which when discharged into the atmosphere
cause environmental damage due to heat & pollutants such
as oxides of sulphur & nitrogen. More...
